edward says he can show receipts for printing costs of posters, flyers,
stickers and other items. showing thousands of dollars in printing costs
regarding this character, since december of 2008. przydzial says the cost
is worth stopping obama and he feels it's well worth it.
during the time this image was being born and grown... the art has
been hi-jacked by a group of haters. the 911 truther movement. alex
jones the inforwars/prisonplanet 911 conspiracy nut-jobs have set up
firas as the bogus author of the joker... but one thing remains, it's a lie.
jones was also sent a cease and desist which being the immature moron
he is, mocked the order like a 13 year old having a temper tantrum.

The Los Angeles Times Top of the Ticket has revealed the identity of
the artist behind the image of Barack Obama done up as the Joker. It's
Firas Alkhateeb, a 20-year-old history major at the University of
Illinois, the son of Palestinian immigrants, amateur Photoshop artist
and... Dennis Kucinich supporter.
Uh oh.
Alkhateeb created the image during Winter break -- that is, before the
inauguration -- when he had some time to kill. But he is not the
creator of the Obama-Joker-Socialist poster that has appeared in Los
Angeles and other cities around the nation.
The entire Times item is worth reading, but here are a couple of
points that should have the L.A. Weekly's Steven Mikulan and the
Washington Post's Philip Kennicott staring at their shoes in shame.
Turns out, their racist right-winger is a lefty:
If he had to choose a politician to support, Alkhateeb said, it would
be Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich.
And:
Although Alkhateeb claims he was making no political statement with
the artwork, he's plugged into the Washington debate. Though born in
the United States, his Palestinian family closely follows Middle
Eastern politics.
"I think he's definitely doing better than Bush was," Alkhateeb said
of Obama. Alkhateeb's views on foreign relations align with the
Democrats, he said, while he prefers Republican ideals on domestic
issues.
Alkhateeb's assessment of Obama: "In terms of domestic policy, I don't
think he's really doing much good for the country right now," he said.
"We don't have to 'hero worship' the guy."
We don't know what "domestic issues" he's referring to, but many
Muslims are socially conservative and tended to support the GOP before
2001. On foreign policy, it isn't too difficult to read between the
lines. Tom Maguire at Just One Minute fills in some of the blanks
concerning Kucinich and Israel, citing a Council on Foreign Relations
paper:
Rep. Kucinich (D-OH) is critical of Israeli use of force in the
Palestinian territories. Although he has said that Hamas should
renounce terrorism, he opposed the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of
2006, arguing that the legislation would exacerbate a humanitarian
crisis in the Palestinian territories. He said the United States
should urge Israel to “accept the Palestinians' right to
self-determination and economic survival and humanitarian relief, for
food, medical care, for jobs.
In July 2006, Kucinich expressed concern that Israel’s response to the
kidnapping of Israeli soldiers was disproportional and risked
worsening conditions for Palestinian civilians. He called on Hamas to
back down, but also argued that Israel should “halt its incursion into
Gaza” and begin to work again toward a two-state solution.
So there you have it. I'm sure the people who breathlessly denounced
the poster will hold the line -- after all, it's still possible that
the fellow who attached the "socialist" label to the image is the
noose-wielding right-wing bogeyman they so earnestly seek.
Unfortunately, Firas Alkhateeb's identity as the artist takes some of
the teeth out of that "critique." Ah, well, who cares? Never let facts
get in the way of a righteously convoluted theory.
Update: Just as you can get a fair measure of a writer by what he puts
into the public prints, you can learn a lot about a fellah by his
Flickr stream. Mr. Alkhateeb's photos and comments are worth pondering
in the context of his Joker Photoshop. Of particular interest are his
thoughts on Obama's decision to name Rahm Emanuel as White House Chief
of Staff:
President-elect Obama has appointed Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff.
EPIC FAIL.
Emanuel is a fervent anti-Islam voice in Washington. A Zionist, he
takes a hard line stance against the Palestinian cause, and shows a
clear anti-Muslim racism.
Besides that, he is the embodiment of "political partisanship" that
Obama was supposedly going to change!
I guess we can only blame ourselves. He said "change" we just never
bothered asking if he meant good change or bad. Looks like things are
not going to get any better or different in Washington.
Change we shouldn't have believed in.

other media outlets on the conservative side have also been duped into
reporting this false information. reports on sean hannity, msnbc, cnn

right here. i'm a bit confussed why fox news has not pursued the false
story and found the real artist. maybe it's not that important to the

selling t-shirts, decals and other items without his permission. he
says; "i could care less if they sell or copy and re-sell, distribute
or whatever. it's there for the whole world to see and it belongs to
this time period in history. my only problem is the art only makes
sense when the socialism/fascism moniker is part of the image...
putting your own lame url on it and using it for "promotional" or
'for sale' items cheapens the meaning."
whatever the case the obama joker is very cool and the artist is one
strange guy. time will always be the judge as to how much real
information actually get 's leaked to the public. it's also important
to keep in mind firas alkhateeb has shown himself to be false and
his so called message is either bogus or a flat out lie, just like his
claim of authorship. done.
